-Babies must be due by April 1, 2009
-Session will take place at your home
-Session will take place within 10 days of birth

In return for a signed model release, you will receive a waived session fee ($125 value), a 5x7 proof book containing your session images, and an 11x14 mounted print of your choice. In addition, you will get 25% off any additional prints or packages.

Goodbye 2008...hello 2009!

Happy New Year!!! I cannot believe it has been a whole year since my photography adventure began. It seems like just yesterday that I started down this path and I want to take a moment before the year is over to thank all of you who have believed in me throughout the year! I feel so blessed to be doing what I love, and thank you to everyone who welcomed me into your lives and gave me the opportunity to document your lives by photographing your children, pregnancies, and families in 2008!

It's been a fun year, and I am SO incredibly excited for 2009 and all the great things I'm sure it will bring! I look forward to many great sessions this coming year!

SNOW DAY!!!

We woke this morning to snow falling lightly and a few inches on the ground. We are currently having an "artic blast" all over the Pacific Northwest, and the kids were really juiced up to get ouside. Little A didn't last long. It was a bit windy and in the mid 20s, and she was giving us looks like "what on earth are we doing out here".

I didn't bring my camera out this morning, but I did go back out with the boys this afternoon and got some fun snaps!

Stuff I've been working on!

I've been such a bad blogger, but this has been a busy month for me. One of my goals in 2009 is to become a better blogger, along with being a better businesswoman and revamping my sad little blog.

But until then, here is an assortment of stuff I've been working on:

This is one of my favorite images I've taken. I just love those expressive eyes!

This little guy was all smiles, and just LOOK at those incredible blue eyes!!! Both I and his parents loved this more serious one:

This little guy had the longest eyelashes I've ever seen!

This cutie was so into my camera, she even did exactly what I told her to (sit there, look up at me, etc.) That was a nice change of pace for me as the photographer!!! :)

This one was a challenge. He really just wanted to play 'elephant' instead of get his picture taken.

But eventually we did get some smiles out of him too.

Can you believe she is only 10 years old? She is so mature, and such a beautiful girl!

And finally a sample card from an early bird who was on the ball and ordered early this year! Thanks Christina!!

Just a note: LRP will be closed from December 15th through the end of the year. The only exception is newborns. If you are interested in booking a newborn session, contact me and we'll set up some time to make it happen within the first 10 days.

I wanted to post some pictures of an actual storyboard, so everyone can get an idea of what it looks like on an easel, and also see the texture and the mounting thickness.

These are really neat in person,and make a great statement!

Here you can see the mounting:

And here you can see the light texture on the print. All storyboards are textured and sprayed, so they won't show fingerprints or be damaged by handling.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph another local photographer, Jennifer, and her family. And in turn, she photographed my family as well! Most of our family pictures don't include me, so I was so excited to get some pictures with our entire family in them!

But talk about nerves!!! I normally don't ever get nervous on shoots, but for this shoot I was certainly feeling a little nervous about getting that perfect shot! She has 4 kids, which might seem like a huge challenge, but they were so well-behaved and literally did exactly what I told them too. They sat still, smiled, so my job was easy!

Here are a few of my faves. Hopefully you like them too Jennifer!

October wouldn't be complete without some pictures from our multiple fall trips to the pumpkin patch. This year we were lucky enough to share our annual tradition with friends and out-of-town family. The kids love going to the farm to ride the hayride and see the tractors, and search for that perfect gourd. My favorite part is eating fresh roasted corn on the cob afterwards!

This year was a particularly gorgeous year. We had awesome 60 degree sunny weather, and ended up at the farm twice in the same week. It was great! I have a picture of my kids here out in the pumpkin patch from every year. It's fun to see how big they grow in relation to the pumpkins that used to dwarf them when they were little!

The weather was so gorgeous that I'm thinking next year I'll have to hold some special autumn themed sessions out here.

Holiday Schedule 2008

It's hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner. But trust me, they will be here before we know it.

***I only have TWO spots left for mini-sessions on November 8th, so call me ASAP if you want one for this years holiday photo. Don't miss out on a
really economical way to get some fall family photos! November 8th will be the last mini-session event of 2008.***

In order to make sure everyone gets cards in time for the Holidays, I've set up some deadlines. Vendors are known to be slammed with orders during the holiday rush, and I'd hate to see someone disappointed that they cannot get their cards or other products in time! I also want to make sure I have time to relax and enjoy the holiday with my own family. Here are the deadlines:

*** Last Day for Sessions with before Christmas delivery - Tuesday, November 18, 2008
*** Last day for Christmas card orders - Sunday, November 30, 2008 (cards arrive December 14th)
*** Last day for print orders with Christmas delivery - Friday, December 5, 2008

I will not be accepting regular sessions after Tuesday, December 16, 2008. I will resume normal scheduling on Saturday, January 3, 2009. (Exception: If you are expecting a newborn and are due during this time, contact me as I will make sure to squeeze you in!)

This photo is a perfect capture of this cute family. The little guy was not at all interested in the crazy "camera lady" and just wanted to run off around the park. We got lots of family shots with him running out of the frame, or jumping off mom and dad's lap!

I did manage to capture a glance here and there, and his big brother (and parents) were extremely well behaved in front of the camera. Mom and Dad, here is your sneak peak. The rest will be up soon, I promise!! :)

Sneak Peak: Beautiful 3-month old

This little sweetheart is 3 months old and is a joy to photograph! I did not get to take her photos when she was a newborn, so in addition to getting some fun awake shots, we tried to get her to sleep for us so I could get some of those sleepy baby shots too. I think we succeeded...she even gave me a sleepy smile, too!

Here are some favorites from yesterday's session. Just look at those eyes! Wow. Mom & Dad, it was great seeing you guys again! I can't wait for our next session!

I am so bad about remembering to take 'snapshots' of my kids just doing their thing in and around our house. I know that I'll want to remember those everyday moments as much as the scripted ones and today was one of those rare days where I remembered to capture the cuteness going on at home!!!

Luckily my camera was close and ready, because this cute, happy little munchkin is what I found after naptime today. Almost every day without fail, we wake up talking about the "bubble" outside her nursery window (we still haven't figured out what "bubble" means for sure...since there are no bubbles out there!!)

I'm so glad I captured this very typical moment for us! Not to mention (putting on my mommy goggles here) isn't this just THE cutest little face ever??? Sigh. I just love this little girl :)

for durability so they can be displayed without a frame if desired. They make fun gifts for family members, too!

I ordered this one in a 10x20 size as a studio sample. When it comes in I'll take some product pictures to show you the texture and mounting!

Sweet Baby E...

I recently got the chance to meet the adorable daughter of some good friends who have recently moved to town. We took at few snaps while they were at the house, and little E was just 8 weeks old. She is so awake and alert for an 8 week old, and thought my camera was fascinating! I can't wait to do a real session with her!

Sneak Peak: Family in The Pearl

Earlier this week I got to photograph a good friend and her lovely family. I've taken lots of pictures of her and the boys, but never had an 'official' session. We met up downtown at Tanner Springs Park in the Pearl District for a more 'urban' look.

I'm not sure we got the urban look we were going for, as we were sort of pressed for time and energy! The boys were troopers, considering it was at the end of the day and basically bedtime. We had a few meltdowns, but hopefully I got a few shots Mom and Dad will love. Next time I think we should do our session first thing in the morning!

I'm so excited to announce this years Holiday mini-sessions for families! This will be the first year I'm offering a Christmas Card Special, and I'm so excited! I have a great line of Holiday Cards that are all ready to go, so check them out in the post below this announcement.

Fall is such a great time for portraits, and early October will be so lovely with the vibrant colors and cooler weather here in Portland! It's not too early to start thinking about getting photos done for the holidays because they will be here before we know it. Mini-sessions are a great way to get some professional portraits taken of your family at a much reduced price off a regular session! I will be offering limited sessions per date, so don't delay. At this price I expect to book up quickly!

As of now, I plan to only offer mini-sessions on this date, and there are limited number of sessions available. If you are interested in booking, get in touch with me early. Session fee is due to hold your session time.

If these dates change (or I decide to add another date) I will update here with availability!!!

I know I promised August 1st, but unfortunately my site is now in domain name server limbo. We are waiting for some technical
details to get worked out on the hosting side of things, but the site is ready to go and waiting! I'll be shooting a wedding all day

Gorgeous Blue Eyes

I couldn't resist sharing a photo of my big guy from this weekend.

He is getting to be so grown up lately, and along with that comes avoiding my camera at all costs (he has PCS-photographer's
child syndrome). So, today, after plenty of trying, I got this shot. And I couldn't be happier to finally have captured his true little
self at almost 4 years old. I just love those blue eyes!
